Old White Bear Public House and Restaurant, nestled in Cross Hills, Keighley, stands out for its unwavering commitment to traditional pub values amidst a landscape of so-called gastropubs. Patrons like Mark Shelley praise its authentic atmosphere, where the quality of both ale and food shines. The affordable specials board tempts diners with creations that showcase culinary finesse. Notably, Paula Gilbert raves about the classic fish and chips, highlighting the lovely texture of the brown chips paired with hearty white fish, skillfully prepared from soaked hard peas—an elegant nod to true British cuisine. Visitors consistently comment on the warm, friendly service; Johanna Hope describes the attentive yet unobtrusive staff that enhances the experience. Ronnie Mansfield shares a delightful Sunday outing filled with flavorful steak pie and a well-executed roast. Large groups, like Emma Williment's party of nine, are also welcomed with ease, while unique non-alcoholic options make inclusivity a priority. In essence, Old White Bear delivers not only delectable dishes but also a welcoming spirit, making it a cherished spot for both locals and travelers looking for genuine pub fare.

Not been for a long time but heard good things and brought some friends down to share the experience. We were after a good pub with good ale and a good pub food menu. We were not disappointed! Having been to many places that were good pubs in there day and now are ‘Restaurants’ pretending to be pubs! Don’t be put off by “pub food” as there is still a great specials board with some very tempting dishes. Compliments to the Chef and their team! We will be back.

Today we called in with our dog. We were greeted by the friendly staff, ordered our meals and were served really quickly. The fish and chips were gorgeous; brown chips and white chunky fish. The mushy peas tasted like real ones and indeed were made from hard peas that had been soaked. Very highly recommended.

What a friendly place, great food and great service, I went with a group of 5 friends for a pre Christmas meal, the food was great and reasonably priced too. The serve was also spot on, there if you needed them but not in your face will definitely be back.

Called in on our way home on a Sunday afternoon. Steak pie and chips were delicious. My wife had the Sunday roast with all the trimmings, she really enjoyed it . We were asked a couple of times if everything was ok, and felt really looked after . Highly recommend.

First time visiting, we were a large party 9, and the staff were very accommodating. The food was excellent and the price was agreeable. I was pleased that they had a few non alcoholic options, that weren't just pepsi etc. They had non alcoholic beer and gin. Would recommend the pub.

Lovely Sunday afternoon with friends. The service and food was brilliant. I recommend the steak pie, homemade chips aka " proper chips" and mushy peas. The deserts were good too. Will return. Many Thanks
